About
Personal-finance figures, with the working shown
Honest Figures is a public reference of personal-finance calculators and guides. Every result comes with the formula that produced it and a link to the primary source of the figures behind it.
Who builds it
Honest Figures is built and maintained by RavenLabs, the applied-AI engineering arm of RavenGroup Global Tech Private Limited, a company registered in India in 2026. The same team writes the guides, builds the calculators, and checks each figure against its primary source before it is published.
How the calculators work
Every result on this site is derived from a stated formula, using published figures from primary sources: the IRS for federal income tax and the standard deduction, the Social Security Administration for the payroll tax rates and wage base, the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the Consumer Price Index, and Freddie Mac for the 30-year fixed mortgage rate. Estimates and simplifications are labelled where they occur. The calculators need no account, and the figures you enter stay on your device.
How we stay independent
The site is free to use and is supported by display advertising. Advertising never changes a calculation, a figure, or the order in which information is shown. Ad space is clearly separated from the content, and until our ad partner is approved those slots carry our own reference cards, not paid placements. Our numbers come from primary sources, not from advertisers. Read the editorial policy for how we source, date, and correct figures.
Where the numbers come from
Federal tax brackets and the standard deduction: IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 (annual inflation adjustments, tax year 2026). FICA rates and the Social Security wage base: Social Security Administration. Inflation: BLS Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U). Mortgage rates: Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey. The methodology page lists each figure and the date it was last checked.
