Founder and editor · Honest Figures
Chandranshu Kumar is the founder of RavenGroup Global Tech Private Limited and its applied-AI arm, RavenLabs, and the editor responsible for Honest Figures. He builds the calculators, sets the standard for where the numbers come from, and is accountable for what the site publishes.
What he does here
He designs and codes the calculators, decides which primary source each figure must come from, and checks every published number against that source before it goes live. The engines behind the site compute results from stated formulas, and the guides are drafted by the RavenLabs team with software assistance; he edits them, verifies the figures, and is the person answerable for the result. If a number cannot be traced to the body that sets it, it does not get published.
Where his background is, and isn't
His work is in applied AI, software, and data: building tools that are transparent about their inputs and their method. He is not a licensed tax preparer or financial adviser, and Honest Figures does not give personal financial advice. What the site offers is the opposite of an opinion, a figure computed from a public rule, with the rule and its source shown next to it, so you can check the working yourself.
The standard he holds the site to
Primary sources only, each one dated: the IRS for federal tax brackets and the standard deduction, the Social Security Administration for payroll tax rates and the wage base, the Bureau of Labor Statistics for inflation, and Freddie Mac for mortgage rates. The editorial policy sets out how figures are sourced, dated, and corrected, and the methodology page lists each figure and when it was last checked.
